Located in Longbranch, Washington, this 3,100 sqft retreat was designed by Seattle-based architecture studio mwworks for a multi-generational family. The cabin is quietly nestled within a forest clearing, blending seamlessly into its wooded surroundings with minimal disturbance to the site. The material palette—cedar, concrete, blackened steel, and oak—was selected for both durability and natural warmth. Interior finishes, including oak casework and plaster walls, reflect the soft, filtered light of the forest. Designed for simplicity, comfort, and a deep connection to nature, the project offers a timeless space for gathering, reflection, and retreat.
