Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, Los Altos New Modern Single-Story House is a modern single-story home designed by Klopf Architecture to harmonize with its lush California surroundings. This ground-up construction balances clean architectural lines with natural materials to create a warm, open environment for a young family seeking both simplicity and sophistication.

The residence features an open-plan layout with strong indoor–outdoor connectivity. Full-height glazing lines the main living areas, allowing views of the gardens and filling the interiors with natural light. The exterior is composed of vertical wood siding, smooth white stucco, and dark aluminum-framed windows, reflecting a timeless material palette grounded in California modernism.

Inside, the house offers a warm minimalist experience: polished concrete floors, exposed wood ceilings, and custom millwork unify each space. A central courtyard anchors the plan and enhances cross-ventilation, daylighting, and spatial flow. Passive solar orientation and energy-efficient systems also contribute to the home’s low environmental impact, aligning with Klopf Architecture’s commitment to sustainability and net-zero-ready living.
