Pôle Associatif du Blosne is a multi-purpose community center designed to bring new identity and social cohesion to the Le Blosne district of Rennes, France. This area, historically defined by its large 1960s housing blocks, is undergoing a major urban renewal, and this project plays a pivotal role in redefining its social and architectural landscape.
The project is located along the future "Rambla" — a central urban spine that connects both new and existing public facilities. The building is also situated on the former site of the “Baraque Ar Maure,” a historical element of the neighborhood, offering symbolic continuity.
🧱 Architectural Concept:
The design merges several distinct house-like volumes connected by a shared open platform and circulation galleries. This layout not only defines each function spatially but also expresses the community-oriented spirit of the center.
Key Features:
Transparency & Openness: Large openings make interior activities visible from the outside, promoting engagement and openness.
Natural Light Play: Timber brise-soleil panels create a dynamic interplay of light and shadow across the facades.
Landscape Integration: The center is surrounded by diverse garden spaces, integrating the building naturally into its context.
Social Identity: The architecture acts as a social catalyst — highly visible, welcoming, and inclusive.
